Open Mic Night
Our 8th Step Open Mic Night is hosted alternately by Robert Carreau and Cathy Winter on the third Thursday of every month from 7-9:30pm. We welcome all levels and styles of musicians and encourage storytellers and poets - from experienced performers trying out new material or beginners looking for a little stage time in a friendly space! There is never a cover charge and you can also enjoy FREE garage parking on Broadway, around the corner!
Sign-up starts at 6:45 pm for up to 10 minute slots at the mic. At about 8:30 pm we break out into a circle and jam, backing each other up - singing, joining in on harmonies, trying out new tunes or just listening. Great fun! We often offer a "theme" - a suggestion to whet your imagination - but YOU choose your songs, as always.
Open Mic Nights are held in the Guild Room on the second floor of Proctors Theatre, overlooking the Main Arcade. Simply take the Main Arcade elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor and turn right - the Guild Room is ahead on your right.
